Pastoral Care

At Excelsior, we believe that a strong foundation of pastoral care is essential for academic success. Every pupil belongs to a tutor group, with a Form Tutor who is the first person to greet your child each day.

We have a carefully planned pastoral programme supporting your child through their journey through secondary education and preparing them for adulthood.

Our team is committed to creating a supportive community where students thrive emotionally and academically, laying the groundwork for a bright and fulfilling future.

We have a dedicated pastoral team, comprised of a Vice Principal, Assistant Principals, Year Managers, Assistant Year Managers, and Inclusion and Intervention Managers. We work hard to know each child well and support them as they journey through school. Our team has a wealth of experience and can support pupils and parents, fostering a sense of belonging and personal growth.

Our Behaviour Curriculum

At Excelsior Academy, behaviour is explicitly taught through our structured behaviour curriculum, built around four key strands. This is delivered through our Be Ready tutor programme, targeted interventions, and consistently reinforced in everyday lessons and interactions across the Academy.
